A first for me is coming next month!

I’ll be hosting my first-ever women’s finance event with the aim of inspiring them to think critically and intentionally about their financial lives and legacies.

My goal is to equip them with the knowledge, tools, and confidence necessary to take meaningful next steps on their own.

If this event goes well, I already have plans to share a similar talk with a group of pre-retirees and retirees in the community.

As a reader of The Everyday Advisor, I’d love your input! Are there financial topics you wish you had learned about sooner?

Please send me a message and let me know! Chances are, if you wish you had learned about it, others would benefit from learning as well.

Topics I’m Addressing At My Upcoming Finance Event:

1. Knowing How Much You Spend Now and in Retirement

One of the biggest obstacles to a successful retirement is that many people have no idea how much they spend now or will need to spend in retirement. And let’s be honest, very few people want to “budget” (myself included!) That’s why I will share practical tips and easy-to-use tools to help you track your real expenses without the hassle of a strict budget.

2. Understanding Your Income Now and in Retirement

You may have a Roth IRA, a 401(k), and a brokerage account, but how do these impact your expected income in retirement? Having assets is one thing; understanding how they can safely support your lifestyle is another.

3. Finding the Right Balance Between Living Life Now and Saving for the Future

Many investors struggle with immense guilt when it comes to spending their money. Without knowing exactly how much they need to save, they often default to saving as much as possible—sometimes at the expense of enjoying life. I, however, want you to save for a specific purpose and avoid over-saving at the expense of enjoying life!

4. Aligning Your Time and Money with Your Values

True wealth is measured by how well your time and money reflect what matters most to you. You might say you are passionate about your community or want your children to have a better financial start than you had, but how does that align with your daily spending and activities?

5. Articulating Your Financial Legacy

Your financial legacy is more than just numbers—it’s the story you leave behind. Learn how to define and communicate your vision, ensuring that your legacy reflects your personal and financial priorities.

6. Building Confidence in Your Estate Plan

I want attendees to step into the future with certainty. I’ll provide resources to help you start thinking about your estate plan, find the right professionals to assist you, and take simple first steps to protect your assets and legacy.

7. Ensuring Proper Insurance Coverage

Insurance is a crucial pillar of financial security. My goal is to help you evaluate your own coverage, ensuring that your policies protect your family and align with your legacy goals.

8. Creating a Purpose-Driven Portfolio

Your investment portfolio shouldn’t be cookie-cutter. It should be built to reflect your specific goals and values. However, if you haven’t clearly defined those goals with your advisor, your portfolio may not align with what matters most to you. I will share key questions to ask and provide great visuals to help you approach portfolio discussions in a more meaningful way.

9. Identifying Your Top Personal and Financial Goals

I will offer a guided exercise to help you pinpoint your most important personal and financial objectives and set you on a path to developing a realistic plan to achieve them.
